A pretty fun bar if you wanna shoot some pool and have drinks. The prices are pretty fair. They also had a live band who played, they were spot on! I would definitely come back next time I'm up here.

Nice employees. The cook came back to open he kitchen for us. The venue is cool. We went during the week but can see it being a lot of fun on the weekends. Pool tables & fooze ball

Worse customer service ever. The bartender was drunk and such a jerk. He disrespected and called me out in front of everyone. Waited 30 minutes to get a single beer. I don't know why anyone would come here. 0 stars

Cool spot to hang out in. Their food is really good-yes even without drinking it was delectable! Pool tables, foose ball, and darts-fun time to compete with hubby. Stage is good for their bands and it's roomy in there. Bar tenders were adorable and very sweet. Always our choice to go to when visiting Big Bear.

It's a big bar in a place that doesn't have many bars. They play music videos on the TVs. Prices weren't bad. Was a bit more lively than the other bar we checked out.

  • Jessica C.

Atmosphere is awesome ! cliff [bartender] and Michael [chef] were great! A+ customer service and great attitudes. Food was A quality as well, will return!

I ate here on their opening day when they had a VERY limited menu. Completely understandable because they were opening a little prematurely. I had the chili! It was good! But overall, this is an awesome place for drinks and a good game of pool since they have tons of tables!! We've been back many times for that exact reason! Great location in the heart of the village. Can't go wrong!

This is the 2nd time I've been to and wow I just keep getting disappointed. We sat ourselves down on a table and no one approached us. We saw waitresses walking around with their trays but they walked right past us all the time. Not sure why. It was a busy day, football was all over their TVs, but we just wanted a drink and a snack before we head out to the village. After 10 minutes we left, and no one even said anything. How sad.

I was bummed that Chad's Place closed but I wanted to check this new place out. The service was fantastic (mind you it was a Thursday night, so it wasn't slammed). They had a great beer/cocktail selection, and the waitress was very friendly. The owners were there and they were relaly nice and approachable. What we weren't expecting was how good the food was!! Everything was ridiculously good for pub food. I would definately go back!

This place is great. Amazing service, music, drinks, and pool. What more could you want? The people are really friendly!

  • Matt S.

Oh my god, this place is amazing! you have to go in and see Lacey, she makes the best blended drinks ask for a pina colada you won't be disappointed..

  • Erik H.

This place is excellent with a very friendly service. the girls there are beautiful and the food is great. it's unbelievable how good the music is with live bands on the weekends and what a crowd. this place is a must and I've been to every bar in Big Bear.

Went to BB for a little R&R and ended up at Whiskey Daves, wow was I surprised! Sat down for a drink or 2 , not driving, and had the pleasure of meeting Natalie and all the staff. Very cool, down to earth and receptive! In this decadent time of vanity, shallowness, and just shear lack of substance, I meet this well mannered, thoughtful, seriously down to earth young lady, ( minus the short skirt, tight fitting tank top and gobs of make up , to a wonderfully sincere nice young lady, that reached out to make me feel good, a part of: In these times, that is rare! Amazing pollo tacos , good company and good service! I'll be back!

This a bar that serves food. We had "Just What The Doctor Ordered". It is a beef/philly dip mix. Beef, peppers, onions, au jus. It was good. Girlfriend and I split which was perfect. The place has pool tables, darts, dance floor. We got there around 8pm and it was slow. It started filling up as we were leaving. They play classic rock on the sound system and videos. Also sports playing on tv.

I love this place. It's my preferred billiards in Big Bear

  • Marco P.

Stick to beer. You'll get more for your money. Paid $8.25 for a coke with a splash of rum. Fireball shots were $8 each. I recommend Murray's.

Good burgers. Good beer. Nice vibe. Sorta slow service. Good place to come out to for a night out at big bear.

  • Jack L.

Not outstanding but pretty ok. $10 for a shot of Jameson made me feel like I was in Hollywood. A common markup in the bar biz is 4 drinks sold paying for the bottle not two. I wouldn't complain except this was in the bar midday. Bar staff is mediocre at best. I gave them another try where I was charged a cover to listen to a shitty AIC knockoff band. I know Bear has some markups on big weekends but I will take my chances and go somewhere else. #murraysforthewin

Stopped in for a lunch time drink and snack. I was impressed with the chicago style hot dog and french fries. The food was fresh and tasty. Took advantage of the drink specials.. Bloody Mary's were Awesome!!

What an exciting Bar! We came there after the Music in the Mountains show because the security guy the night before there said you have to come back for the next band. they are awesome. Friday night's band was outstanding, but LA's "Hi-Fi Academy" on Saturday was fantastic. And better yet, they will be back for on Friday and Saturday for the Fourth of July weekend. it was a great evening with dancing, great customers to meet and enjoy and awesome music. And extraordinary service; though she wasn't our server, the waitress we had the day before kept checking on us and relaying our needs. What a great evening!

  • Patricia C.

Walked in this weekend to check -it out... So far, Whiskey Dave's have improved old chads place overall ( new pool tables, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, more beers available on tab and they take credit card ). We didn't try food, or listen to band( reason I don't give five stars) we will definitely be back !

  • tina s.

Impressed with their salad for a bar/restaurant. I got the fiesta salad. Low key dive bar vibe with good food and good selection of beers on tap

  • Robbie T.

What a great place. This is the old Chad's Place, but the new owners have done it right. First of all, we were greeted by friendly bartenders. Smiles and courtesy. Beers16 on tap. No food yet, but promises of some coming. Smells good for a change and the band was amazingly great. Best of all, they haven't changed much, just improved the basics. Definitely noticed the new pool tables and tvs. We will be back.

  • Matthew P.

David doesn't know how to respond to negative reviews calling others spineless punks and wanting to fight them. The prices are way to high this is big bear not Hollywood! this bar is a joke the food is mediocre and the owner has horrible work ethic. very poor service in my opinion! not only he likes to threaten people but the last couple times I was there he was completely intoxicated, not how a person should run a buisness

  • Marla H.

We went up and down the main streets in town, rejecting most for not having fun bar where you could eat, drink, and talk to people. Then we found Whiskey Dave's. We were not disappointed. Very good and plentiful food. Fun and very good bar wench, patrons sociable, fun. Lots of locals, so you know it's good. Food freshly prepared by owner's wife. Highly recommended.

  • Alex J.

This place is great, went several times over a week vacation in big bear. Staff were all nice, drinks were good, what else can I say? The bouncers were even friendly and overall nice place, nice people.

  • Drina G.

Standard Bar, Not busy at the time we arrived around 1pm, but Very Loud with some kind of love me down sex rap music (more of a 9pm vibe then lunch hour) We wanted a drink and lunch and watch the race... ordered drinks, 2 jack and coke s and 2 bottled beers, after 10 mins of waiting we approached the bar, and asked about our drinks, the waitress said "wait, I'll get to you" Very Rude I wished I remembered her name... we left... she came outside with our drinks and asked if we still wanted them as we were getting on our bike. LOL we showed her the same respect and Rode off.

  • Tony S.

We had so much fun here the drinks were great and our waitress Ali was awesome. We Didn't try the food but it smelled really good defiantly worth spending your time here

  • Jay C.

Plain and simple. This place is amazing! The owner Dave and his wife are outstanding people. They have the coldest beer on tap. The best live bands. Great food. Fun atmosphere. Awesome bartenders. Pool tables. Games. Tv's. And dont forget about the whiskey! I mean come on people! It's whiskey daves for crying out loud! So why are you still reading this? Go and enjoy yourself at one of the best bars in big bear!

  • Elben C.

Ordered a stella and fish tacos. Got the stella instantly, was waiting a half hour for the fish tacos, checked in on them... The bartender never heard my order so he put them in when I mentioned it. His barback heard but never cared to remind him. They care if you get your drink, not so much about your food.

    (2)
  • Gabriella C.

Pretty cool bar. A lot of pool tables to kick back and play some pool while drinking. It took a while for my boyfriend and I to get a bartenders attention so we can order. The music was also really low so it was kinda quite in there. I don't know if it's because we went on a Tuesday...We ended up leaving to go to another bar b

  • Ynot S.

Came here on the 30th of September. It was midweek and no one was out. We were looking for food, but the kitchen was already closed. The sweetest nicest bartender ever offered tp order food from a different spot and had one of the boys go pick it up!!!!! We shot pool and smoked and joked around the fire!! Because of, I believe her name was lacey, this is the spot we will always come to while up at big bear!!!!! Can't wait for snowboarding season!!!!!!

  • Christie Lin M.

No thank you! Had left Murray's just wanting to get a change of scenery and trying to experience all of Big Bear. That was a big mistake. Walking in you could barely breathe from the stench of bleach. At least it seems to keep clean. The place was dead, esp compared to Murray's. Drink prices were ridiculous. This is Big Bear, not Hollywood. We got double the drinks and food for what we paid here at Murray's. I don't really remember the bar staff being one way or the other, but I can agree that this place is just not worth it and gives off a crappy vibe.

    (1)
  • Jonathan C.

Apparently service is not their fortay. Apparently cleaning/clearing a table is more important than taking orders (even though nobody was waiting to sit at said table). 13 minutes after chatting with a waitress and her saying she'd be right over we walked out. The place seems like a cool ambiance, but the service is certainly lacking.

  • D O.

We have been here a few times and enjoyed the casual fun. The food is good and the beer is cold, what more could you want out of a place like this? Our last visit established them as deserving 5 stars. We entered, found a table and sat down, got drinks and ordered food as always. Everything was fine. When our food came, I told our waitress that she'd brought the wrong meal for me. She was apologetic, almost nervous, took the blame without question and ran off to fix it. As we sat there and looked at the menu, we realized that I had made the mistake and ordered the wrong thing. I felt terrible and tracked the waitress down to tell her. She was gracious and so nice about the whole thing that Dave's gets five stars. The place is very causal and fun, with pool tables, screens and music, a nice semi-rustic bar kind of place where one can relax in Big Bear. More classic bar, than the sort of upscale modern feel of the newer places in town, and in that very much more comfortable. Hint: Park in back and you'll walk right in!

  • Eric T.

This is pretty much the perfect Mountain Bar. Dark low beams hang over your head as you move through the dark, wooden maze of booths, stools, counters and pool tables. There is nothing 'reclaimed' about the wood - it's just old, and soaked with whiskey and beer. There are no edison lights to be found, or cold bright soulless modern rooms. There is nothing fancy, pretentious or uncomfortable about Whiskey Dave's - you can sit right down like you had been coming in for years. Without the rude interruption of sunlight you can lose day to night wandering through conversations and whiskeys followed by beers, followed by (you get the idea) They have a spot for a band, a dance floor and, liittle corners to find drink, laugh and erase the day. TIPS: Bring cash, one of the bars is cash only - and the other has a 20 dollar minimum for credit cards.

  • Michelle B.

Good drinks...lots of tables for pool...the food always looks and smells amazing but have yet to feel like eating! ;.( This is a purdy cool spot!

  • Rachel C.

Came in during Labor Day weekend about 5pm. Small crowd but we were there early. They have about 6 pool tables and lots of space, a small outdoor area. We ordered one of their specialty drinks and a beer, $19.50. They don't do tabs, $20 minimum per order or they have an ATM out back. Overall it's ok, with the limited places in the area I'm sure we'll be back!

  • Mara B.

I am stunned reading some of the negative reviews on here!! I frequently go to Whiskey Daves.. the service, staff, atmosphere, food and drinks are consistently great. I don't understand why people are complaining about drink prices either that is what makes this a upscale bar and keeps the creepy scumbags out! I always feel safe with the great security staff at WD as well. My favorite bar in Big Bear. I wouldn't go anywhere else in town!!

    (5)
  • Angelica C.

Prices I guess were pricier than other spots in Big Bear, but coming from LA, they were about average. It's a huge spot, so not likely to get crowded. There was a live band when I came in, which was awesome. Great place to grab drinks and play darts!

    (5)
  • David M.

Great atmosphere! Great drinks! Great service! Great food! Had the Blue Bayou burger and it was fantastic. What else can I say, other than I will go back there, every time I am in Big Bear.

    (5)
  • Kayleigh T.

Went in for a drink. They have a minimum $20 card charge which I feel is a little excessive. We ended up paying for 3 drinks and she closed us out below $20 since my husbands beer was flat. The pool tables are nice, but I've never had to pay $1.50 a game before. So that was a little weird.

    (3)
  • Tony G.

Great bar in a great town. Very friendly staff, good food and great beer on tap. Ordered the wings and they were amazing. I'd come back again when I come back!

  • Jeremiah L.

The person that owns this bar needs to spend some time in big bear, His business practices are shady, he has no respect for the town that pays his bills. His drinks are higher than any other bar in big bear. The food is about the same you can get in a microwave. Locals and visitors should avoid this bar while in big bear. And then after this honest review he sent this unbelievable message to my yelp account. David S: What a loser you are. I pay my bills not the town you dumbass. My drinks are higher because I have the best and busiest bar within 100 miles. Go to Murray's or Chad's you ignorant fuck. Microwave...Chef's in our kitchen and fresh food. Oh that's right you know everything you spineless punk. Hide behind your mama's skirt and Yelp. Grow a nut sack and come on in and tell me like a man you worthless loser. See you around Jeremiah not to hard to figure out who you are. Would love to catch you coming thru our property.

  • Bryan M.

This seemed to be the "happening" bar in town. I remember it being packed and drinks being skimp. We were warned by locals that it gets rowdy at night and that drinks were on the pricy side. Locals were right about that!

    (3)
  • Maureen F.

Walked in, got a table, but NO waitress approached us. We waiting 20/ minutes, while the servers kept servicing other tables. They clearly saw us, but never even asked us if we wanted a drink, or just told us they would be with us shortly.. When I finally approached a waitress she just brushed me off and said it would be a few minutes ..,.very rude, will never go back, there are too many other good places in the area I can get good food and good service. Why be treated like that....after all I was going to spend my money in there. The owner needs to train his waitresses on the basic skills of good customer service. Place didn't look that great anyways..

    (1)
  • Dani M.

Great place to watch a game or just to stop in for a beer. We ordered an old fashioned without the cherry & ended up with a glass of whiskey with tons of ice. That was disappointing! Yet to try the food, but the menu items seemed alright.

    (4)
  • Destiny C.

Perfect. Large bar, lots of seating, HiFiAcademy was playing Live and rocked the house! The bartenders seem a little bitter about their job...or something... perhaps jaded is the word...but they still smile easy. The girl with the tattoos that bartends is great...they guys are so so. But still a fantastic time. Drinks are good, beware the bloody mary though...SPICY! :-) It comes with lots of yummy vegis. You cant go wrong at Whiskey Daves...and don't forget to ask about the place being haunted!

We were in Big Bear for 4th of July weekend and stopped in. We ended up staying the whole night. Bartenders were kickass. Busy night and they kept on top of everything. The band was awesome! We had a couple of apps wings were good highly recommend!

My steak was way over cooked, it took forever for our food to come out. I'm not impressed with this place at all.

  • Lyndsi W.

We walked in trying to kill some time after shopping and picking up my boyfriend from snowboarding. The door guy checked out ID's and we were told to sit down someone would be right with us after trying to order from the Bar. 20 mins later still sitting there we finally has to go to the bar again to order and were told they were sorry no one saw us. I don't think you saw us because you weren't trying to look. They walked right past us numerous times and we were looking around like some lost kids looking for their parents. Overall thank god we only had time for one beer here and I'm glad for that. It was a sports bar type of place, pretty large and I'm sure gets going on a weekend evening but, I personally would find some other bar to go to since the service here was so horrible it was ridiculous. Quite possibly some of the worst service I've ever gotten anywhere. The menu looked like it had some interesting things on it mostly bar food and we didn't try any so not sure how good that aspect is.

  • Shahe S.

Honestly waited 30 mins to get a drink. Never got it. Luckily had a little cash on me and got to got go to back bar. When I asked the front bar for a drink he laughed and said wait your turn. I waited 30 min and saw someone get served waiting 30 second. This place is a joke

My husband and I come to Big Bear at least one week a year and know this used to be Chads....which we always hated and still do (but that will be another review). We were leary to go in but so glad we did. We went twice during our week stay. We are in our late 40's and love to drink and play pool and just have fun. The first time we went in I believe the bartender's name was Amy ? She was extremely welcoming and friendly We were one of the very few people in there during that time because it was a Monday around 2 or 3pm. My husband and I settled in and played 4 games of pool and thoroughly enjoyed the beer and service. They place is large and clean with lots of pool tables and a good selection of draft beers... they even have my favorite of Lagunitas. We went again two days later and was lucky enough to meet the bartender Cliff He was even MORE friendly and helpful and kept checking on us all the time and would have nice little chats with us between drink orders. Hubby and I again played 4 games of pool and just had a great time watching music videos up on the screen and listening to the good music. Again, hardly anyone there as it was during the week but they really make you feel welcome. We met the owners on the way out....they seemed like really nice people. Give this place a try.... at least during the week we really enjoyed ourselves.

  • Chris M.

Hmmm....if you like to pay $10 a shot, $6.50 + for a mediocre beer and a enjoy them in a dungy bar...this is the place for you. Payed $35 + tip for two shots and two warm beers here. Went to Murray's with my wife before ending up at this place. We got 2 shot, 4 beers, some amazing food for less than what we got here. Staff was meh...seemed board probably because it was so dead in there. My advise is walk 2 more minutes to Murray's.

    (1)
  • Max S.

Bartenders are slow and rude. Never waited so long for a drink. Bacon wrapped Jalapeno poppers were good. Besides that it's amateur hour at this place.

    (1)
  • Neanderthal J.

neanderthal break it to you ease: drink expensive. tall can pbr cost $6.50! when bartender tell that to neanderthal, ask if bartender is secretly ashley kutcher, and if neanderthal victim of stupid show punk'd. unfortunate, it was real price and neanderthal tv debut must be further delay. pool table and sticks nice. this is reason for 2 star instead of 1. but coin slot for pool table say $1.00 to play, howevery it actual cost $1.25. one quarter not that big of difference, but every time neanderthal putting 5th quarter in, feel like coin slot taunting me because it should only be the $1.00 as advertise! also eat chip and salsa. salsa ok, but chip taste burnt. rather eat $1 bag from grocery store ha ha. overalls, decent place for to play pool (but not swim pool), bad place to drink.

  • Lisa N.

This is a pretty cool bar with dart boards, pool tables, a stage for a live band, some dancing and outdoor seating. What else do you want to ask for? This bar has it all! It's very conveniently located at the Villages of Big Bear where you ladies can go shopping and the guys and sit and chill and have a beer. Hey, it worked for me!

    (5)
  • Dylan M.

I've never felt more alienated and violated In my life. After laying down big tips and and being more then respectful, we were ran out by locals. I left being treated like trash. It was the Christmas party for the staff. The owner went out of his way to invite us, just so he could tell us to leave.. I don't understand how a bar stays in business who treats customers the way they treated us. I recommend any other bar but this one.

Visited big bear and wanted to check out the night life. Stopped in here and was pleasantly surprised. Our bartender was k.c., he was so incredibly professional and very charming. Made the whole experience super fun and sparkling ;) can't wait to go back!

  • Meri N.

My best friends and I came here while on vacation and even though we were a bit crazy from the moment we walked in, KC was professional and patient with us. The drinks were great and I will definitely return next time I am in town.

Was in Big Bear for the weekend with a group of friends, and though we had plenty libations at the cabin, we were in seek of more. Very spacious joint with pool tables, darts, and a foosball table. Foosball and pool tables were clean, nice, and plenty of fun. Maybe a bit critical, but the dart boards were worn, and getting a dart to stick took a major league arm. Decent beers on tap. A bit disappointed, but we were served in tiny plastic cups. When I ordered a few shots, they too were in plastic shot glasses...AND ONLY FILLED HALF WAY! Ordered the artichoke dip with pita, and was pleasantly surprised. Not bad! Overall, nice hang out, a bit disappointed with the drinks situation, but the spacious area with the bar games made up for it.

Stumbled on this restaurant/bar... I just want to applaued them for such great customer service knowledge of the alcohol and made killer drinks... service here is beyond amazing the bartenders are amazing especially lacy and alley phenomenal woman... this is defiantly a place I will come back to.

    (5)
  • Sarah H.

Hey...not a great experience. The Chili Cook-Off was going on...they were about 1/2 full. But it took a while to get service and we were served in plastic cups...because they were out of glasses at 1:00 in the afternoon. Our waitress was nice but as said...service was ssssllllloooowwww. One hour fifteen minutes for two drinks, appetizer, a burger, and a hot dog. Burger was well over done, the hot dog was dry as well (they had split it in half to cook faster) and the fries were too salty to eat. Also the beer I ordered was wrong. Ordered a Hangar 24 Orange Wheat and got a Shock Top. In other words be cautious when ordering...unless your a biker, then you seem to get very fast, good and quality service.

  • Victoria F.

They're food is AWESOME. Blue cheese chips; tortilla soup; chicken chili; buffalo wings... All the classics as well as gourmet- it's all here. Now to the drinks: Fireball on tap?! Yes. Cocktails, beer, they have honey jack which I love. Atmosphere is lively. Pool tables, darts, live band at night.. What more you want from when there's no snow to play in? Shout out to Amy! She's pretty awesome too.

  • Michael B.

Great beer selection, tons of pool tables, and awesome cover bands...what else can you ask for!! My girlfriend and I went here on a Saturday and it was awesome. The bar had a great vibe and was big enough to handle the big crowd. Will definitely come back again!

    (5)
  • Sarina V.

This was a great place to hangout on a Saturday night! No cover, which was great since guys had to pay one at AV "Nightclub". The music was good, dancefloor was big, this space was bigger so it wasn't as hot and gross. Didn't get drinks here, but I liked this place, they had a bar, many places to sit and were serving food. Next time around I think we might just come and stay here!

    (5)
  • Shauna M.

Seriously one of the cleanest, most well kept bar I've ever been in! Food presentation was fantastic and my salad was HUGE! The cover band rocked. The owners are awesome; they came and sat and chatted with us for over 1/2hr. Very cool! I'll definitely be back and would recommend :-)

    (5)
  • Joe J.

Excellent location, large floor space for dancing, drinking, pool, darts, you name it. There was an excellent band playing on the Friday and Saturday nights when we were there. The appetizer menu has plenty to choose from, and the wings are soaked in Frank's Red Hot Sauce so you can't argue with how good they taste. Plenty of draft beer choices, and the place has a lot of business as the night goes on. Great place to hang out with friends and down some drinks while in town.

    (4)
  • Robert A.

Table wasn't really clean. Darts didn't work. No sweet n low or equal - what restaurant doesn't have sweet n low or equal? Tortilla soup was okay and potato skins were more like undercooked wedges. We won't be returning.

Very nice kick back place! Drinks were great and bartender was friendly. Pool tables were cool too.

Needless to say, I will be calling and asking for the manager and writing a letter to the owner with these notes printed.

Went in to Whiskey Dave's to a catch a 1pm Sunday NFL game and catch a bite. I ordered a burger and water. The water came in a maybe 6oz plastic cup without ice. I had to ask for more water, obviously. It did not help that the burger was over cooked and the bun was hard. The waitress asked if I would like to order a drink from the bar and I explained I was driving my family down the mountain and was not drinking alcohol. Soon after she brought my bill and did not speak a word to me again. Disappointed. In other circumstances I would imagine this could be a nice place to have drinks but I was left feeling if you aren't drinking you aren't welcome.

Wanted to like it more (it's a bar with my name) but it was fine. Service was on the slower side and the wait for our food seemed incredibly long. Ended up paying double the price of a much better meal at Murray's. Probably wouldn't go back here on my next trip Big Bear.

Absolutely horribly slow like molasses kitchen. No molasses is faster. Food mediocre and prices unreasonably high. Bar service servers are awesome but unless your goal is to watch games and drink, avoid this place.

My boyfriend, my sister, her boyfriend and I came here on a spontaneous day trip to Big Bear from Riverside. Thought we would check out several bars. Stopped in at Whiskey Daves and NEVER LEFT. We had such a great time. Music was great. The food we ordered came out right away, hot and delicious. The Service was awesome and Cliff the bartender was THE BEST. Always made sure our beers were full, even when we weren't sitting at the bar. Remembered our names and made us feel very welcome. Thats how service SHOULD BE. Definitely a place we will be going back to for our next Big Bear adventure. Thanks again Cliff, you alone earned fives stars with us!!!!

Was in Big Bear recently celebrating my sisters B-day. She used to love coming to Chad's when it was here and still likes this place. The only thing I really observed that was different was the sign out front, they serve food now and the dart boards. We really came in to play darts because when Chad's was there they had the plastic tip dart board which kept score for you, so no matter how drunk you got you never had to do math. Well the new dart boards in this place are HORRIBLE, metal tip darts that don't stick in the board which means that the automatic score feature in this game does not work. Same Idea as the plastic tip game, but poor execution. GET RID OF THIS GAME.....don't waste your money. We did try the food. I had the Unforgiven.. which is a burger with bacon and a scoop of mac and cheese on top. Was ok...just ok.. burger was way overcooked with not much flavor but the homemade pretzel roll was great. Overall it's not a bad place to go have a couple of drinks, staff was friendly and helpful but I can't give it more then 2 stars. I will return...because its a bar....hopefully I will have a better experience.

Atmosphere is awesome! Must show up early to get a comfortable place to view and enjoy the live band. Wknds gets a little too crowded since the bar area gets tight but they do have beautiful girls walking the floor attending you. Also keep in mind small tight place means loud noise so trying to have a decent conversation might be challenging. There is a back patio outside to enjoy with a fire place, smoking area and comfortable enough to enjoy small chats.

Waitress: "be right back to take your order". Never to be seen again. Just getting drinks from the bar ourselves now after a 20 minute wait for a bartender. Not many people in here for them to be this slow...

I've been coming to BB for many years now, and have been to most places. We had a great time at Chad's.....er, I mean Dave's.....nothing to complain about. Live music was good. Beers were good. Staff was friendly.

This place is great the staff is nice and the owner Dave is a really nice person that has done a lot to make this place better. After a long day on the slopes it a nice place to stop off to get a drink. Dave and his wife have done a lot to make it a bar to stop in if your up at Big Bear.

Cool joint. Nice bar, nice atmosphere. Saturday nights are nutty, tons of people and a very good house band and excellent DJ. Bartenders and staff are great. Ask for Ralphie at the bar, great guy!

Went for New Years and was a little stunned by the $25 cash cover charge, guess that will not be claimed anywhere. Once in we claimed a pool table and had a blast and the champagne flowed freely at midnight

I've been going to this bar for over 23 years. I started going there back when it was called "Chad's Place" and I've always had a great time. The new owners have cleaned it up and given it a nice new clean feel. They have 6 pool tables, Foosball, dartboards, a dance floor with live music on weekends and the food is amazing for bar food. They are conveniently located right in the center of the village. The staff really knows how to make you feel at home. All the bartenders are friendly and skilled, particularly Ralph Aros, affectionately knows as "Ralphie." He is truly a professional and he can make great drinks quickly even while carrying on a conversation. He's a great addition to Whiskey Dave's. The last time I was in, they had nice, new, straight pool cues with good tips on them. I appreciate a bar that takes good care of the pool tables and supplies the patrons with quality cues. The bouncers are very good at their job and they take care of over-beveraged and overzealous patrons quickly and effectively to keep the environment safe. The last time I was in, there was a guy looking for trouble and the bouncers got him outside and dealt with him before most people even realized what was going on. If you plan to drink be sure to plan a ride home before you go because the police are always lingering around Whiskey Dave's and they will take you down if they see you trying to get into the drivers seat of a vehicle or cause any mischief outside. Whenever I go out to shoot pool or play foosball or darts in Big Bear Whiskey Dave's is my first choice.

They think they are doing you a favor by showing up to work and twisting a beer cap off a bottle. The dart boards are a joke. A very nice girl asked me what i wanted to drink after I moved around so she would notice me. Then an older man stared me down all night yet when I needed a beer he acted like he couldn't see me. Finally when I got his attention he was just rude. I then returned the darts and he asked me 3 X why there was only 3. I told him I was only given 3. After acting like he didn't believe me I told him I don't need to steal your darts. dumb! why treat your customers like shit?
